Martini Music – It’s all about the Martini cocktail this Happy Hour. What aged spirits such as whiskey are to the Old Fashioned, Gin is to the Martini on a more sophisticated level. It is the simplest drink which is also the easiest to mess up if you don’t get the proportions correct.

Scenario:  The Year is 1951 and the Martini Cocktail is at the height of its popularity, and a great value at only .50 cents.

United Nations Headquarters opens in Manhattan New York City. Communist China declines a cease fire in Korea further escalating the war. Back in the western hemisphere there is a military coup in Bolivia.

While the USSR announces it has nuclear abilities, the United States has already begun testing on the next wave Hydrogen bomb in the South Pacific Bikini Atoll Islands. This technology is also being used for the peaceful purposes such as the world’s first Nuclear power plant in Idaho.

The first American Football game is televised on CBS. If you don’t have a television and have .27 cents for a gallon of gasoline, you can drive to the first shopping mall in Massachusetts to buy a television set for $300. It is too late to watch Joe DiMaggio, he won his final World Series and has now retired from Baseball to become engaged to Marilyn Monroe.
