Top [Mandatory] Tips:
- Fully charged phone: Not only because you might be stuck with a delayed flight and need that tablet, laptop or phone fully charged, but you might also will be asked to power on a phone or electronic device (laptop, tablet, smartphone), if you can’t it is flagged as suspicious and you will have problems.
- Clothing: Wear the same clothes on to the plane as you will on your return trip. Rolled clothes will not only wrinkle less, this is a great way to compress and squeeze out the air so you will have more room in your luggage.
- Essentials: Personal Item such as medication, laptop, clean underwear, shirt, socks, iPhone charger
- Companion Travelers: Don’t pack things twice. If your travel mate has an electric toothbrush, you don’t need two power handles, just one, you can bring your own brush head.
- Photocopy: ALL vital documentation, including passport. If nothing else, have it in a cloud so you can access it.
- Medicine: even if you are not on prescription medicine, you never know when you will need aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamins, etc. Carry a small assortment of must-have remedies should you ever need them.
- Water: the moment I get off the plane I go and buy the largest size of water I can, typically a liter or a gallon. If I buy it in the hotel I could pay $5 for a bottle I won’t even be able to swallow pills with.
