Happy Hour #177 – Dinner At Dino’s

Happy Hour #177

Dinner at Dino’s

Dino Paul Crocetti (June 7, 1917  –  December 25, 1995) was born in Steubenville, Ohio.  He later changed his name to Dean Martin, but the name “Dino” always stuck.  While he was known to be a drinker, he actually did not drink to excess, it was more of an act which help contribute to his laid back persona.  Known as the King of Cool (even Elvis said Dino was cooler than him), he was one of the greatest entertainers of the midcentury era, if not the 20th century. He embodied what it was to be an Italian-American and influenced cocktail culture.  According to his daughter Deana’s book, when he was not on the road, he would come home promptly at 6, have a cocktail (typically a martini or scotch & soda), eat dinner at 7pm and be in bed by 10pm, so he could be up at 6am to golf.   We dedicate this happy hour to him.
