Happy Hour #169 – How To Bellydance

Happy Hour #169 – How To Bellydance

If you research Sonny Lester’s LP “How to Bellydance for your Husband” you will see it was politically corrected and is now named “How to Bellydance for your Lover”. While I agree with the sentiment (not everyone has a husband and some people don’t even get married anymore), I don’t feel the need to go back in time and correct things etched in print (and stone) to correct it in 2026 CE (better known as AD). Imagine how confused historians a thousand years from now are going to be trying to date and figure out all these codifications?  Just enjoy, it is for fun, and if you are someone who is in a same sex relationship, get a chuckle from the original idea. So, for all intense purposes, we are just going to call this show How To Bellydance, whether it be for your boyfriend, girlfriend, husband or wife, or even just for yourself to immerse yourself in a little exotic fun.

COCKTAIL COUP NEWS TRANSCRIPT:

The Year is 1965 and Saudi Arabia television broadcasting is finally launched with a recitation of the Qur’an, the holy book of Islam.

However television in the United States airs the I Dream of Jeannie situation comedy with a 33 year old Barbara Eden playing the part of a 2,000 year old Genie trapped in a vase, which is actually a decorated Jim Beam Bourbon bottle. While other television shows feature women in bikinis, hot pants, short skirts and exotic alien females barely clothed on Star Trek, Jeannie is not allowed to show anything more than midriff while serving her Master, NASA Astronaut Tony who found her.

Meanwhile the space race is heating up with both the USA and USSR completing their first successful space walk missions. The United States takes the lead of the great space race by getting close up photographs of Mars by the Mariner 4 Probe.

Back on Earth the Shalom Meir Tower opens in Israel becoming the tallest building in the Middle East.

Morocco, Casablanca hosts the secret Arab League Summit with more than a dozen Middle Eastern countries participating.
