Steak Fries

These are perfectly cooked steak fries without all the extra added oil or salt. Don’t limit yourself to just salt and pepper, once you take off the aluminum foil and flip them, add some other herbs like thyme, rosemary or whatever you like on your potatoes.
INGREDIENTS
- 3 Russet Potatoes
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 475F Oven
METHOD
- Peel and slice potatoes lengthwise into 6 pieces
- Soak in hot tap water for 10 minutes
- Preheat oven to 475F
- Evenly coat a non-stick pan with 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- Evenly spread the salt and pepper (this will serve as an added layer to prevent potatoes from sticking)
- Drain and dry the potatoes
- Lightly coat with more vegetable oil and place flat side down in pan
- Cover with aluminum foil
- Cook for 30 minutes or more until they are well browned on one side
- Flip, cook uncovered for another 20-30 minutes until deep brown and crisp.
